What is this site?
Music for Reading, is a passion project of mine and one step towards my vision in filling a gap in an area that I love, reading!
I love having atmospheric music on when I’m reading, working, or studying but have always found it difficult to find the right music for the right occasion. This site makes it easy to find what you’re looking for.
But Music for Reading is not the end. I’ve long wanted to work on solutions related to reading to get more out of my favorite hobby. Both through providing the tools for making it more enjoyable with others and making it more fun on your own.
Some of the things I’m working on:
- Book clubs for reading together with your friends or community and making it easy to organise your next session, choose your next book, and more.
- Spaces aimed towards organizations and companies that want to encourage reading. Through reading groups, reading lists, and connecting with others.
- You, who love reading and want to get more out of it on your own, with better tracking and earning achievements and hitting milestones along the way!

Who am I?
I’m Jonathan, a developer from a small town in Northern Sweden. Moved to Stockholm to work as a software engineering consultant after my masters. Felt for a long time that I wanted to create something on my own, something I’m passionate about. So started spending a lot of my spare time on this. But now I’ve taken it a step further and taken a leave of absence from my job as a consultant to focus on this fully.
Outside of reading (and working on this) I spend most of my time with friends and family, or learning something new!
